Look around you. See those people? THOSE are the people who could help you in an emergency. THOSE are the only people who care about you, comfort you, love you.
You can make their life better, too.
We all have to help each other, because there's nobody else out there to do it. So, unofficially, we have to help one another.
And as much as we would all LIKE to believe it, I'm sorry, there is zero proof (as in totally zero) that there is any other life but this. We get one each.
This is apparently NOT just a dress rehearsal for some "real life" that comes next.
Sorry Buddhists, no reincarnation apparently.
Sorry Muslims, no virgins await you after death.
Sorry Christians, no Heaven (or even Hell) comes next.
So make the most of this opportunity! Seize the day. Be kind. Help each other enjoy our little stints here! And don't hesitate! This is all we have!
And there is no ultimate arbiter for good and evil. Again, WE alone decide what's good and bad. If someone is doing bad, WE have to do something about it. There is no god, no ultimate judge in the sky, and that's ok.
We make the rules, we are the players in this game, and we are the referees.
We can't cop out and put this responsibility on some pretend person.
Isn't reality more beautiful? We MUST help one another...nobody else can do it.
We MUST enjoy this life, because it is the only one we have.
We MUST determine what's good and bad, and who's good and bad.
This takes more responsibility than offloading it to pretend people and deities, but it makes life more urgent.
Like snowflakes melting in the sun, we are unique, we are ultimately on our own, and time is slipping by. Enjoy your life!

Why I hate the label "Atheist"
"Atheism" of course means "not a theist".
But why should I be characterized by this "unbelief"?
Why should the theists determine how I am labeled?
I guess freethinker is a better term.
Other things I do not believe in:
Everything is open for modification, too. No dogma.
But look around you. That's all there is. And isn't it magnificent? Space. Friends. Life. Flowers. Rainbows. Science. Family.
No need for pretend.
Atheist? I guess so, but I use the term reluctantly. I guess I am an aunicornist too.

Other things I do not believe in:
- the yeti
- the loch ness monster
- sasquatch
- magic
- miracles
- prayer
- fate
- astrology
- Heaven
- Hell
- angels
- fairies
- unicorns
- leprechauns
- ESP
- horoscopes
- future telling
- any life after death
- protection of religious beliefs as sacred; foolishness is foolishness; child abuse is child abuse
- palm reading

Credit where credit is due
There are some wonderful, amazing people out there. They are better than you probably, and better than me certainly.
For example: Nick Vujicic (http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/about-nick-vujicic.php)
He is a perfect example of a wonderful, amazing person.
He is also the perfect example of "The Cop-out", a type of person I automatically lose a tremendous amount of respect for.
In this particular case, Nick has no arms or legs, but is tremendously inspirational, positive, happy, and even physically active.
Perfect, right?
Not exactly. See, he gives credit to Jesus. Credit for testing him. Credit for helping him.
This is The Cop-out.
Nick, and all other amazing people out there: GIVE THE CREDIT TO THE ACTUAL SOURCES of your happiness and positivity.
Credit YOURSELF.
Your doctors.
Your parents.
Your fans (like me).
But NOT some 2000-year-old man who has nothing to do with this.
Isn't this ACTUAL world beautiful enough? Aren't the actual circumstances enough? Do we have to really bring in pretend things?
Nick, you are awesome. So are your doctors, parents, and fans.
Jesus maybe was awesome too.
But Nick, Jesus, you (the reader), and me...we are all just normal people. That's the only variety there is: normal people. No saints. No miracles. No gods. No exceptions.
Reality is beautiful. Give the credit where it's due: to real people in a real world!
I encourage you, whenever you hear praise and credit given to something pretend, to encourage the person to give the genuine credit to a genuine source! Don't be silent, in this day and age, when someone eschews reality in favor of craziness or delusion or superstition!
